I will be teaching beginning watercolor techniques for a group of ladies this Friday April 21 in my home.
I have loved to paint with watercolor since childhood and have a special love of the outdoors, gardens and architecture. Since the Ohio River has been one of my latest focuses, I have made many trips to various locations along the river in order to learn about it and paint what I see. I recently painted the Roebling Bridge downtown while sitting in the new Smale Waterfront Park. Wherever I am I will sketch, in watercolors, my surroundings and experiences as some write in a journal. I wrote and illustrated a book about our previous dog Rags. In the past few years, I have done some illustration work for others as well and have truly enjoyed creating images from authors’ words. My painting is somewhat whimsical and impressionistic in style with a sense of romanticism and joy. My hope is that you will be inspired by the paintings and see something in a new way through my art.
